Our Advisory Team meets quarterly during the year but we are always looking ahead towards our next service project. Please email us if you have an idea for our next HOPE New London County project!
Motivated by God’s love, we partner with our neighbors in need, equip volunteers, respond to disasters and strengthen communities to inspire greater hope in our world.
HOPE worldwide Volunteer Corps' main purpose is mutually transforming engagement in communities around the world.
Our signature "Corps" program open to ALL - families, individuals, singles, campus and teens.
The Community Service Brigades are built to help communities in need with medical services.
Hello HOPE Volunteers!
Our next event is just around the corner… but first, we need everyone to create an account with the HOPEww New London County Volunteer Hub and visit the New London County Chapter (it takes less than 5 minutes):
Volunteer Hub:
• A great resource that HOPEww requires HOPE Chapters to use.
• Helps us streamline communication and ensures that we follow health and safety documentation and protocols for events.
• Prior HOPE volunteers may have created accounts with the National Volunteer site, but our local chapter cannot connect with them directly. If you are interested in connecting with our New London County chapter (ie, you registered with HOPE, but not with the New London County Chapter of HOPE) we just need you to login to VolunteerHub and make your way to our chapter page (see link above) and you will automatically be included as an interested local volunteer.
Child Safety Training is REQUIRED for all volunteers working with children. This may be completed online during your account setup for VolunteerHub. If you have previously registered but did not review during the account set up please log into your account, click the arrow next to your name, and then choose manage affiliations. You may then select to complete 2020/2021 training and then "save." This process will take about 10 minutes to complete.
Individual adult waivers are required for participation in any HOPEworldwide chapter event and may be signed electronically via VolunteerHub. Minor waivers are also required but MUST be printed out and signed by a parent/legal guardian.
We started our HOPE Scouts Troop in 2019! Beth and Marcel Duzant and Stuart and Megan Boben are the troop leaders. Our HOPE Scouts troop is a program of our local HOPE chapter. All students, Kindergarten through High School, are welcome to be HOPE Scouts. The focus is to give families an opportunity to serve our community together. This is not a drop-off program. We participate in at least 4 community service events a year with devotionals/planning times in between the events.
So far, our HOPE Scouts troop has made blankets for a local nursing home and we enjoyed the precious residence as we visited them on our delivery day. On Earth Day we assisted a clean-up and painted kindness rocks to encourage others in the community. During a recent Groton New London Church-wide camping trip, HOPE Scout friendships were strengthened by gathering for games and hiking. Our HOPE Scouts have enjoyed earning badges to add to their memory books throughout the year.
Contact us about serving in many ways through out the year.
Donna Pombrio is our current director of our local Hope World Wide chapter.
Anyone is welcome to join us. We believe showing compassion for those less fortunate because of Jesus' love for us. Bring as many friends as you can.
